The whole point of OpenBrainstem is to provide online resources useful to Intelligent Open Source Software Engineering. These resources are provided that they might foster better open source software, better practices in the creation of open source software and support the myriad of disciplines needed to make that software great.
This page is the base point for all wiki content regarding OpenBrainstem infrastructure and planning.

I'm building a new NeverBlock server for OpenBrainstem (and other sites). It's on NeverBlock's new platform, runs CentOS 5 and is giving me a chance to clean some things up.
The new server will also host the OpenBrainstem version control repositories. All of the existing CVS and bzr repositories are on an old Compaq ProLiant 1500R sitting in my house (DMZ). It's a power-hog, doesn't have much storage (2x9.1GB RAID1 and 3x4.5 RAID5 arrays) and I'm re-purposing it.
I will be deploying Eventum instead of RT. Some of the reasons for this decision include my desire to not have to deal with maintaining a Perl application that requires 60+ CPAN modules. I was able to build RPMs for all but 1 of them without too much effort (some compiles had to be tweaked a bit). The one that failed to build was for GPG integration and it was actually due to failed tests. I have been running a test installation of Eventum for a few days on my notebook and I think it will work quite well for OpenBrainstem's needs.
I am considering removing TaskFreak! once Eventum is deployed. For now, it will remain and will be moved to the new server. I really like TaskFreak!, but I believe that Eventum is more than capable of replacing it. As Eventum will also serve as our RFE and bug tracking application, a single point for all such related information is probably best.
Either MovableType Open Source or WordPress MU will replace the existing OpenBrainstem blogs.
I will deploy a planet at the http://openbrainstem.net/ address, which will aggregate from blogs including a central OpenBrainstem news blog, a newsletter blog and member blogs. The news and newsletter blogs will also be hooked into mailing lists so that people can choose to get updated information via email. Once the blogs are in place, all "news" items in this wiki will be moved from here.
OpenBrainstem has been slowly building and I am very excited for the future. There are many fun software projects in the works, a plethora of good ideas from several people associated with OpenBrainstem and I am having a lot of fun putting things together and designing new software. Maybe OpenBrainstem will never grow much beyond being just my own pet projects site, but that would also be alright with me.
I want to say, "Thank You," to all those who have contributed and supported my efforts to build OpenBrainstem, to those programmers out there who have brought new project ideas to me and to my wife and daughter for putting up with all the late night hours I spend at my computers, working on OpenBrainstem and the projects.
